Gov. Kelly appoints Johnson County judge to Kansas Supreme Court

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Gov. Laura Kelly has appointed K. Christopher Jayaram to serve as the next justice on the Kansas Supreme Court.

Jayaram has served as a District Court Judge in Johnson County District Court since 2021. He was one of three finalists selected by a nominating commission in May. He will fill the vacancy created by former Chief Justice Marla Luckert’s retirement.
